Shree Kakubhai Popat

An inspiration to everyone he meets, Mr. Mansukh Premji Popat, fondly known as Kakubhai Popat, is the founder of this luxurious resort, Motel The Village. His shining personality has motivated people all over the world.

Kakubhai has five children, Dharmeshbhai, Yogeshbhai and Hiteshbhai, his sons, and Diptiben and Darshnaben, his daughters. Born on January 10, 1937, Kakubhai was a hardworking young man who excelled at everything he put his mind to. He graduated from PDM College with a degree in Pharmacy.

Kakubhai was a businessman who dealt in textiles. Later on, he opened the well-known Uno Medical Stores in Jamnagar, Gujarat. One of the first stores to stay open for 24 hours, Uno was a roaring success. The second step was establishing Uno Agency and then Uno Chemist. He then decided to diversify into building and construction. It was this spark that ignited the journey towards Motel The Village. He visited many countries and experienced international hospitality. When he returned home, he wanted to create a resort that was perfect for travellers to rest and have a meal. And that was when Motel The Village came into existence.
